We are a family of four with two young kids (boy and girl), residing on a cattle and goat property near Morven, SQLD. Mum’s parents also live on the property and we all work together to keep the property running. The children do school through Charleville DE. The boy is in year 4 and the girl is in Prep. Generally, they are both pretty good, our son is quite independent with a lot of his work completed online. Mum assists with delivering his C2C program. Our daughter receives a lot of the focus, being in Prep, which is quite hands on. Both are pretty good getting into the school room, our daughter enjoys art and anything creative. Our son is more practical and more a get in and get it done kid, preferring to be outside doing other things.
We are 55km from town, with the majority bitumen and only 11km of dirt. The road is suitable to a low car and caravans. Morven Tourism Centre has plenty of information on things to see and do however the Tregol National Park is a must see – home to the ancient rainforest tree, the Ooline. It is the only location of its type. With our property being close to Charleville, the Cosmos Centre and Historical Museum are an easy day trip away. Make sure you pencil in time to observe the amazing Bilbys in Charleville, while you’re there.
We would be grateful for some help in the schoolroom for Term 3, for as long as possible. We are flexible and could work around whatever is possible – even a few weeks stint, with a break and then returning for a final few weeks. We are open to either a single or couple tutor and can offer a bedroom in our house. Ideally, we would prefer someone with their own caravan. If the partner desires, there is always something to see and do on the property.
We have 100,000 acres for you to explore – there’s opportunity to go on a water run and look around. We currently have 14 baby goats at the moment, and we will be mustering and weaning cattle in Term 3 – which is a novel sight to see. On weekends, we like to have a campfire bbq and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the bush evenings.
We have wifi, and Telstra coverage at the housing complex. We are happy to provide power and water, and we would love to share our lunch and evening meals, during the week, with you. We are also keen to provide groceries for breakfast and weekend meals.
