Volunteer with Bushed Australia
Volunteering with Bushed Australia is about showing up where support is hardest to access and where it matters most. Our volunteers help strengthen families, improve education outcomes, support mothers, and stand beside farming communities during some of their toughest moments. Whether you can give your time regularly or for a short, focused period, there is a meaningful way for you to get involved.
1. Tutoring & Educational Support
Our tutoring volunteers support children living in rural, remote, and isolated regions who are engaged in distance education. Volunteers assist with core subjects, learning confidence, routine, and encouragement helping children stay connected, motivated, and supported in their schooling. This role suits educators, retired teachers, university students, or anyone with patience, commitment, and a passion for helping children learn.
2. Peer-to-Peer Pre & Post-Natal Support
Through our peer-to-peer support program, volunteers provide practical and emotional support to women from pregnancy through the early years of parenting. Many rural and remote mothers experience isolation, limited services, and little day-to-day support. As a volunteer, you become a trusted voice offering reassurance, shared experience, encouragement, and connection during an important and vulnerable stage of life. You must be Mental Health First Aid Qualified, if not you can do it through us.
3. Disaster & Farm Experience Volunteering
When floods, fires, drought, or extreme weather hit, Bushed coordinates volunteers to help farming families and communities recover. This includes hands-on assistance such as fencing, clean-ups, repairs, infrastructure work, and general on-farm support once conditions are safe. These opportunities are ideal for tradies, grey nomads, caravanners, and practical helpers who want to make a tangible difference on the ground and be part of rebuilding rural Australia.
Volunteering with Bushed is more than giving time, itโs about restoring confidence, connection, and hope. Every role plays a part in helping families stay strong, children thrive, and communities recover.
**If you are volunteering for tutoring and dealing with children You will be required to have a Blue Card or similar for each state you wish to volunteer in. If you don’t possess one for that state you can apply now and submit the card for that state via email to us at a later date. Until that card has been submitted you will only be considered for the states for which you have supplied such a card.**
Thank you for your interest and support.
